Titleist 712 Series Irons
Titleist may hold the lion’s share of the golf ball market, but the company does pretty well with its line of irons, too.
That’s why it is worth paying attention when a new generation of irons from Titleist hits the market. And that’s what happens in th next few months, with Titleist starting to spread the new 712 series of irons among its professional players last week at the AT&T National on the PGA Tour.
The 712 series will include four different brands, the AP1, AP2, CB and MB lines. But that doesn’t mean the public can get their hands on those lines just yet.
The idea of putting the clubs into the hands of the players who endorse Titleist equipment is simple. The pros will give Titleist the best feedback the company can get on the clubs. With that feedback, whatever minor adjustments that are needed can be made.
In addition, if the players like the new clubs and put the 712 series in their golf bags immediately, its a good way for the company to promote the new equipment.
When the irons finally hit the market, they will sell for an suggested retail price of $100 per iron for steel shafts and $125 per iron for graphite shafts.
