some review on the Mizuno MP-53 golf iron

The Mizuno MP-53 Irons claim to offer more forgiveness from a compact head and we would have to agree. The clever 360 degree grind makes the top line and sole appear smaller than it actually is and this enables Mizuno to increase the forgiveness whilst maintaining the appearance we have come to expect from the better player MP irons. The head size to be similar to the JPX-800 Pro iron but the thinner top line and reduced offset looked much better with the Mizuno MP 53 The diamond muscle design on the back of the head did increase the sweet spot about 1cm in each direction to make it bigger than the MP-52 iron it replaces and even the MX-300, making the MP-53 irons are much more forgiving than any MP iron we had tried before. The cavity in the long and mid irons may not appeal to all, but it is well hidden at address and is closed on the shorter irons so all you see is the better playing iron.
The Mizuno MP-53 golf iron offers the perfect optical illusion for golfers, offering extreme forgiveness in a compact clubhead that would not look out of place in a tour bag.
Building on the legacy of Mizuno’s hugely popular MP series of irons the Grain Flow ForgedMP 53has a head size and profile that appeal to the most skilled shot maker but uses a Diamond Muscle design combined with a Milled Pocket Cavity to offer a surprising level of stability on even off centre hits.
The CNC milled Pocket Cavity is V-shaped and removes 14 grams of weight that is redistributed around the cavity to produce the largest sweet spot of any MP iron while retaining the versatility that better players demand.
The Diamond Muscle design has been created using Mizuno’s Harmonic Impact Technology and works by reinforcing the clubhead from heel to toe and provides excellent feel, control and sound at impact.
The MP-53 features a 360 degree grind that lessens the width of the sole and top edge while the shorter irons feature a design similar to the MP-63 irons to ensure that they offer complete precision and control.
The MP 53 Irons is Grain Flow Forged and features modified U-grooves that conform with the 2010 Condition of Competition rule.
Mizuno have also worked hard on the sound feedback and this is very good as always. The MP-53 lofts are the same as the MP-52 in the 3-5 irons and one degree stronger from 6-iron to PW. The grooves on the face conform to the 2010 condition of competition regulations. The trajectory was good and a bit lower than the JPX-800 Pro and the workability was better too so we think this is an ideal set for low to medium single figure golfers who want looks, performance and forgiveness.
