Post Swing tweak won't slow McIlroy
World No 3 Rory McIlroy is confident he will be comfortable with the subtle swing changes he has made by the time the Masters comes around in April.
The 22-year-old Northern Irishman has been working on minor alterations to his posture and swing under the guidance of long-time coach Michael Bannon, and while he admits that right now he is still a work in progress, he firmly believes the changes might well reap instant rewards at Augusta National when he bids to atone for his shock final-round implosion last season.
"I still feel it's going to take a couple more weeks to fully click in and it feels completely comfortable, but I'm definitely on the right track," he said on Thursday.
"Posture was one of the key things, and just a little bit of swing plane. I was setting the Titleist 712 CB Irons a little steep on the way back, so the Titleist 712 CB Irons was getting a little bit across the line at the top.
"Michael and I have been working on me getting more feel, and getting the Titleist 712 CB Irons pointed a little more left at the top so it's on the right plane. That's basically it.
