Post Callaway RAZR X Iron Set
Callaway wanted to produce a club that that has the power and forgiveness of a wide sole iron, yet retains the versatility and workability of a narrow sole iron. In order to do this they needed to lower the centre of gravity without having to widen the sole, taking into account the fact that a large proportion of players hit lower on the face. That's where Callaway RAZR X iron set came from.Built on Callaway's popular X Series line, the RAZR X is designed to provide consistent distance and accuracy through the set. Callaway RAZR X Irons technology shifts the center of gravity lower and deeper in the clubhead, offering increased shotmaking from more places. The irons are also available in RAZR X Tour and RAZR X Forged models. The RAZR X is a game-improvement iron that has a huge hitting area. Replacing the X-22 and X-24 Hot in Callaway's line, each of the eight irons in the standard RAZR X set are made using a new variable face thickness technology, which makes the hitting area thinner as you move away from the center. This feature broadens the sweet spot and maintains ball speed on off-center hits.

n April of 2008, Trevor Immelman became the first South African to win the Masters since Callaway Staff Icon Gary Player in 1978. Immelman credits his calm attitude during the final round to an encouraging voicemail from Player. "Mr.Player told me he believed in me and I needed to believe in myself," said Immelman. "I took that all to heart and I'm obviously thankful for the message and I'm sure he's proud of me." Immelman looked completely in control throughout that final round, stretching his lead to six shots before eventually cruising to a three-shot win.Along with teammate Rory Sabbatini, Immelman won the 2003 WGC-World Cup for South Africa. He competed for the International side during the 2005 and 2007 Presidents Cup. What Immelman use on the PGA are the clubs from Callaway.
