Post Dave Hendry active in Knysna
What is a Coffee Group and how does it work for me and the guys (and girls naturally) around Knysna?

I am Dave Hendry and our group started out as one (1) , me, and my amazing cup of Coffee looking over the Knysna Lagoon feeling like nobody loved me..... so I went home and cried and cried !!!

The next week I received an e-mail from my longest term member Lynne Erasmus and she said that she had heard about this Coffee Group thing and had a friend whom she wanted to introduce to the Coffee Group idea...so instantly we had a 200% growth, hey was I chuffed !!!

Well a year and two months down the line we have a subscriber mail base of over 80 members, a regular attending crowd of between 22 and 40 members who come to our sessions to meet other business people and make contact with like minded business people.

We have seen affiliate programs blossom between a number of members and have success stories in many differing sectors of business.

I recently have stopped the "flow" of e-mails that regularly go out to my "friends" and have been asked why they have been removed from the Coffee Group mailing list and they are also asking when the next meeting is as they are going into "withdrawal" and need more "Coffee Group therapy". All that because I was trying to set up for Scottys conference last week and missed a few mails that they normally receive keeping them "in the loop" about things from Gen, Scott, Luther and other people with whom I correspond to keep them informed about what is, and should, be going on in the business world.

I recently (about a month back) decided to send out a questionnaire about what they want to have presented and also what they have to offer as a service to the Coffee Group, not a product, but a skill that they possess and can convey to the group... well you cannot imagine what responses I got...can you believe one does pole dancing and another ... and that was the guys.... no only joking but the skills base available is amazing and has already started adding value to the group through lectures, presentations and skills transfer to those wanting more of that info to use in their lives.

We have tried to add value not only in the business context of their lives, but also have allowed them to learn "stuff" that is relevant to their personal growth. Stuff like learning "what is my purpose in life" which has far reaching ramifications into areas like "why people find things boring" and "why other things motivate and excite them"...and their kids, making it easier to guide their family and staff onto better career paths.

We also have planned to have specialist sessions which will cover things as basic as how to set up my accounting system up to advanced topics such as Selling vs. Marketing...knowing the difference. We also will have talks on Altering and redefining my business and even some talks on " How to prepare my business for a sale...the biggest and most profitable sale I have ever made !! "
