| Post subject: | Poulter hits back at TV critic |
Ian Poulter didn't mince his words when he hit back at criticism from a TV commentator on Twitter yesterday. Poulter, who won the Accenture Match Play title two years ago and captured TaylorMade RocketBallZ RBZ Irons with steel shafts'other World Match Play title in Spain last year, suffered a first-round exit in Arizona on Wednesday, losing 4&3 to Korean Sae Bang-moon. Bruce Critchley, a former Walker Cup player who now works for Sky Sports, remarked that Poulter, who has his own clothing company, was maybe not focusing on his TaylorMade RocketBallZ RBZ Irons with steel shafts as much as he could. It would seem that the English golfer disagreed with Critchley's assessment, for he took to his Twitter account to set the record straight. "I would love some of our commentators to do a day in my shoes with family, gym and practice sessions," Poulter wrote. "Well Bruce Chritchley talks complete most of the time anyway. Sorry sky sports viewers for having to listen to his crap every week." Poulter did save some of his criticism for himself, however. "That was simply rubbish, five bogeys, I beat myself," he said of his TaylorMade RocketBallZ RBZ Irons with steel shafts performance on Wednesday. "I wouldn't have given many a good game today. It's a shame. I love Match play. If I'm ever happy in defeat that day will be the last day I ever hit a golf ball. |
