Post Latest and Greatest Taylormade R11 TP Driver
The TaylorMade R11 TP Driver is the latest and greatest from the makers of the No.1 driver in golf. It has new technology, like an adjustable sole that can adjust the face angle of the club, as well as the ability to adjust the launch angle, making it a truly adjustable driver. The power and consistency the R11 brings will improve your game and the sleek white finish will make you the center of attention on the course and in the clubhouse. The "TP" version has a lower center of gravity and is for the more experienced player.
First, it was the interchangeable heel and toe weights (MWT, or Moveable Weight Technology, still present after seven years), then they gave us the ability to change the angle of the driver head on the shaft via the use of an adjustable shaft sleeve/hosel combination (FCT - Flight Control Technology). Now they bring us ASP (Adjustable Sole Plate) Technology, which allows the fine tuning to reach a whole new level.
The slightly triangular-shaped clubhead clocks in at 440cc, though the white crown makes the head appear ever-so-slightly larger than one might expect. The white crown is a stark contrast to the black PVD of the R11 tp's face, with the intent of making the club easier to aim. Another advantage to the white crown is that it eliminates the glare you might see with glossy black clubheads.
DISTANCE: Provides solid distance, particularly when testers get it set up properly for their swing.
ACCURACY/FORGIVENESS: The center of the clubface is easy to find, which is mighty helpful when trying to correct directional misses.
FEEL: Pleasing, solid thud on center hits with little harshness on mis-hits.
PLAYABILITY: R11 TP driver really shines here; testers execute a wide variety of shots with relative ease.
LOOK: Attractive shape and deep clubface frame ball; white crown and black clubface provide a unique alignment system.
Golfers who are really into gear have been buzzing for weeks on message boards and blogs about white drivers. First, there was the all-white Cobra Limited Edition ZL, which Ian Poulter put into play and won with in Asia. Next down the Great White Way will be TaylorMade's yet-to-be-released Taylormade R11 TP, the next generation of 2010's R9.
