Post Person of real influence
In any industry there is a person of real influence, someone that others look up to. What did it take to be that person? What did they have to do to magnify themselves into a position where all others believe they are the pinnacle of what needs to be aspired to?

Read on and find out.

There are three components of becoming a leader in your industry. Here is a simple guide of the three components:
1. Place your stake in the ground - who are you, what do you stand for, what are your standards, what do you tolerate, what do you support, what will you not support?

The first mistake people make is others don't know who they are. They are constantly shifting focus, taking differing positions...in fact most people are downright inconsistent. Imagine a referee that constantly changed their mind. They wouldn't last too long would they?
2. Know the angles - A great golfer knows the money is in the putting and they know and study the angles of the green before attempting the shot. Sure they have to be able to hit the ball, aim, but knowing the playing surface from a variety of angles is the key. A person of influence is like a great artist. They understand the model from multiple sides.
3. Get known - This is where a series of power bases come in. Position power, knowledge power, charisma power or celebrity power are some of the most common. It's a matter of getting known for what you stand for.

Whilst many of us would love to have that Midas touch that makes people just buy from us because of our charisma, the fact is that few have it. Mostly it's about understanding what your power is and how to tap into it. It's about unleashing your personal power.
For you to get ahead in business, your career and stand out you have to carve out your niche. These three tips are helpful, but we have put together so much more for you. In fact... this new knowledge will set you apart in 2011.

Post Harrison Frazar misses his family back in Texas
He turns 40 on July 29, misses his family back in Texas, and is playing this year on a major medical exemption after separate surgeries on his hip and shoulder last summer. Memphis is just the fourth cut he's made in 10 events, though he just qualified for the upcoming U.S. Open at Congressional.

Now Frazar has the biggest paycheck of his career, taking home $1,008,000. He knows he'll be playing at least a couple more years now he has a slot in the Tournament of Champions in Maui in January and in Augusta next April for his first Masters.

"It just shows you how sometimes when you let your guard down or let your expectations soften, you can free yourself up," Frazar said.

Frazar hadn't had a chance to share the news with his wife and three children when he talked with reporters. He said his wife likely was stuck in the Dallas airport, flying to meet him at Congressional.

"I'm assuming her phone is either blown up, or she's trying to get through the airport with three screaming kids," Frazar said.
